Honolulu opens Skyline rail system Segment 2 to the public

Stantec joined its client, the Honolulu Area for Rapid Transportation (HART), Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, other project partners, and the community to celebrate the opening of Skyline Segment 2—a 5.2-mile rail extension from Aloha Stadium to the Middle Street Transit Center.
Segment 2 will give transit riders improved access to employment and transportation hubs on the island of O‘ahu. Four new stations connect to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, the Māpunapuna and Lagoon Drive industrial zones, and the Kalihi Transit Center. Segment 2 of the project connects to Segment 1, which was completed in 2023 and includes 11 miles of rail and 9 stations.?
Stantec has been providing construction management and inspection services to HART for nearly a decade. Recently, the project broke ground on Segment 3, which will connect to Honolulu’s downtown core. The completed rail system is planned to cover 18.9 miles and include 19 stations.
