Steph is a historic tax credits manager and works with state and local governments, nonprofit organizations, and private property owners to identify and preserve historic places and spaces. She currently specializes in helping building owners place buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. She also helps clients secure tax incentives to maintain historic properties and return vacant and underutilized buildings to productive use.
A swing dancer since the 1990s, Steph’s interest in historic preservation grew out of her early fascination with the ballrooms of the big band era. She co-founded the nonprofit Texas Dance Hall Preservation in 2007. Her work in historic preservation has been recognized with awards at the national, state, and local levels.
When she isn’t working to preserve historic places, Steph enjoys traveling with her husband, niece, and friends. She shares her home office with two rambunctious dogs and likes to sew and craft while watching rock and roll documentaries.
