Over a career that spans more than four decades, Dave has dedicated himself to planning, programming, and designing large-scale education projects. He’s passionate about planning and designing academic facilities, ranging from post-secondary law schools and colleges of education to K-12 district buildings.
As an experienced historic preservation professional, Dave has focused a significant portion of his work on renovating and rehabilitating historically important facilities. Regardless of the facility type, he believes that a project begins with developing goals and objectives from a statement of the project’s vision. He collaborates with our clients and team to visualize possibilities and aspirations, and to understand the necessities and restrictions up front. This recipe has helped yield some notable projects including the new Washburn University Law School and the Grand Rapids Community College Early Childhood Learning Laboratory.
Away from designing educational facilities, Dave enjoys photography, cycling, tennis, and archery. He is a USA Archery certified coach and enjoys leading classes at a local range.
