Gulf Canada Square Refurbishment

Tasked with revitalizing a prominent office tower that connects to major buildings and Calgary¡¯s Plus 15 skywalk network, Great West Life (GWL) Realty Advisors engaged us to deliver a comprehensive master plan to enhance public and tenant spaces with a modern, dynamic vision.

Our team of designers and engineers provided services and support throughout the project on several key areas. These included the first- and second-level lobbies, a conference facility on the fourth floor, and a tenant lounge on the seventh floor. To overcome a lack of detailed existing site data, our team utilized 3D scanning technology to transform imprecise floor layouts into accurate Revit plans. This allowed us to streamline fire safety and accessibility upgrades while also creating an engaging and functional environment.

After conducting an in-depth site analysis, we identified key revitalization opportunities centred around four strategic focal points¡ªthe west entry, high-rise elevator lobby, center court, and the east Plus 15 entry and elevator lobby. One of the main design and budget challenges involved the building¡¯s granite slab paneling. However, by introducing a contemporary interior cladding system to preserve the integrity of the paneling, our team successfully balanced sustainable practices with modern feature elements.

The transformation of the Gulf Canada Square building will not only enhance functionality, but also infuse its interiors with vibrant energy, creating an inviting, attractive space for tenants and visitors alike.
