AC Marriott Sawgrass Mills

Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Florida is the single largest outlet mall in the United States, home to a variety of restaurant and retail options. As part of a multi-million-dollar renovation, the development was looking to shift from purely retail to mixed use¡ªa new AC Hotel by Marriott Sawgrass Mills was proposed to appeal to local and international visitors.

Our team was engaged as the prime consultant, providing architecture, structural engineering, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services. Featuring a sleek and modern design, the hotel¡¯s fa?ade has alternating textured panels alongside the windows. The lobby features a communal space with a full bar and an outside terrace that makes the most of South Florida¡¯s warm weather. We introduced manicured landscaped areas to define walkways around the building and lead guests to the mall¡¯s Colonnade Outlets and nearby restaurants. Other amenities include an art gallery featuring the works of local artists, a digital library, the AC Kitchen restaurant, and 2,500 square feet of meeting and event space.

Ultimately, the completed hotel will help increase tourism revenue and add commercial diversity to reinvigorate the Sawgrass Mills development.
