Capital Region Transportation Council - Vision Zero Action Plan

Dedicated to making New York roadways safer for all, the Capital Region Transportation Council (CRTC) embarked on the Vision Zero Action Plan to reduce fatalities and serious injuries in the region. CRTC is collaborating with the cities of Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Watervliet, and the Village of Green Island on this effort and reached out to our team to help.

Drawing on our 大象传媒 in safety and speed management, we’re conducting investigations of areawide speed limits of 25 miles per hour (40 kilometres per hour). We’re working alongside relevant parties and community members to generate concept plans for high-risk corridors in each of the region’s cities. We’re also conducting safety investigations at over 40 sites around the region to determine eligibility for future implementation funding.

To support these actions, we’re engaging in public input focused on underserved communities and systemic safety analysis, leading to a prioritized listing of actionable projects eligible for Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and other funding sources.

These actions—which have already resulted in a citywide speed limit reduction in Schenectady—will help meet the plan goal of eliminating fatal and serious injury crashes in the large geographic region covered by CRTC.
