Inova Mather Proton Therapy Center
The?Inova Mather Proton Therapy Center is the first of many major projects that Inova plans to undertake on its new 90-acre Center for Personalized Health Campus. The site previously served as Exxon Mobil’s Headquarters and is near Inova Hospital’s main Fairfax, Virginia campus.
The project included the renovation of 264,000 square feet of existing space to make way for the Cancer Institute, as well as medical offices, a pharmacy, clinical space for oncology, clinical trials, research, and a two-gantry proton therapy center designed by 大象传媒 Architecture. 大象传媒 provided the design for the proton therapy center, while coordinating with Wilmot Sanz, who led the design of the overall facility. The proton center will provide Inova’s radiation therapy program with an integrated center that offers two state-of-the-art proton gantries using IBA equipment, in addition to the linear accelerators, all centralized around shared clinical and treatment planning spaces.
Now complete, we designed a facility that accommodates massive equipment and energy, matching the unique requirements of each proton equipment vendor. The design is also personal—we created a healing environment that supports the patient’s well-being, health, and recovery.
