Watercare¡¯s Enterprise Model Strategic Planning Partnership

Our client, Watercare?Services Ltd. provides water and wastewater services to over 1.6 million Auckland T¨¡maki Makaurau residents. Watercare faces several challenges such as regulatory reform, growth and resiliency pressures, and a burgeoning water infrastructure programme¡ªthey needed a creative, future-focused, fully integrated delivery model combining the full range of water services from strategy to delivery.

A 10-year programme aims to reduce embodied carbon?(carbon dioxide or greenhouse gas emissions) by 40 percent, leverage a 20 percent cost saving, and improve health and safety by 20 percent. It calls for a new approach and mindset. This is where our team comes in. Our services include strategic planning across asset management and developing servicing strategies for the community for the next 100 years. We also provide concept designs, engaging with operations and contractors, working with mana whenua (power or authority coming from the land), and embracing outcomes to reflect the future vision.

Taking an agile approach while the model is still being designed, our team develops?strategies and concepts that are sustainable and we¡¯re excited about developing a model that can be rolled out across New Zealand. This on-going project is important to our people because it gives us the opportunity to make a difference in our community and inspires ingenuity.
