Stantec UK PAS2080 certified for projects across water, energy, and infrastructure
The certification has become an established mark of trust in responsible carbon management for the built environment

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, has successfully broadened its PAS2080 certification to cover its water, energy, and infrastructure businesses in the United Kingdom & Ireland.?
PAS2080 provides a common framework within the built environment, supporting organisations in reducing whole life carbon emissions produced throughout projects and programmes of work. It considers and promotes collaboration through the whole value chain, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and cost through intelligent planning, design, construction, and operation.?
Stantec has previously been PAS2080 accredited for the water side of its business, in line with the 2023 revision published by the British Standards Institution (BSI). However, the expansion of its certification in March 2025, means that its projects across the energy, community development, and transport environments meet the international benchmark for responsible carbon management. The latest certification was awarded on the back of a robust audit process by the BSI, which examined projects, approaches, and tools used by the Company internally and for clients. In addition to overarching leadership and culture-building around sustainability and carbon management.?

Stantec also worked with the BSI and an industry working group, supporting the development of the 2023 update to PAS2080.?Adrian Johnson, 大象传媒’s executive technical director for sustainability, led the technical advisory panel, helping guide the direction of the updated standard.
