Experienced in the design of mechanical and electrical engineering services, Ian has worked across Europe, Asia, and the UK for both private and public sector clients. He’s been involved with a wide range of markets including defence, energy, industrial, education, and residential.
Ian specialises in the delivery of mechanical and electrical designs for the defence and energy sectors, providing building services related design solutions for sites within the UK and abroad. His defence projects have ranged from simple refurbishments to multimillion pound new-build facilities to both UK and NATO defence standards. In the energy sector, he’s worked on three high-voltage direct current (HVDC) convertor stations linking the UK grid with Norway, Germany, and the Dogger Bank Wind Farm.
A key member of our Plymouth office and technical director of our Buildings Engineering group, Ian regularly coordinates multidisciplinary efforts that also encompass structural, civil, fire, and geotechnical engineering along with the sustainability team.
One day Ian hopes to retrace the overland route taken by his great uncle in 1942 from Yangon, Myanmar, to Salerno, Italy.
