Merrielands Crescent - Engineering Services

Inland Homes set out to transform a four-acre site near Merrielands, Dagenham, formerly part of a Ford manufacturing plant, into a residential development. They appointed us to deliver multidisciplinary engineering services for this project.

Our structural engineers designed concrete frame blocks of five- to nine-storey mid-rise apartments. This included a finite element analysis of concrete floor slabs to provide the most efficient design, resulting in reduced slab thickness and reinforcement quantities. At the same time, we worked closely with the architect to efficiently position columns in the most effective positions.

Our civil engineering team provided a full drainage design with a series of sustainable drainage system features. Our civil, structural, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers closely co-ordinated with each other during the design stage to mitigate any potential clashes during the site works.

When complete, Merrieland Crescent will provide 325 residential units and 1,600 square metres (17,222 square feet) of commercial space.
